This year, the Windham School District has launched new technology initiatives including 1:1 technology and PowerSchool/Unified Classroom for all grade levels. These efforts will help streamline the learning process as well as help keep students and parents informed of upcoming assignments, grades, classroom activities and other important information. The onboarding of these tools and technologies to 3,000 students in addition to their parents is an enormous task and undertaking.

PowerSchool/Unified Classroom is a brand new, award-winning system that integrates the school information system and learning management system onto a single platform. The Windham School District has been using a variety of PowerSchool technologies for years at the upper grade levels without issue. It is a valuable resource, which is why we became an early adopter of their new Unified Classroom platform in order to provide a robust, single system and customize it to meet the district’s needs. Unfortunately, PowerSchool experienced product delays and did not release its Unified Classroom to us until just prior to school opening. Their delay did not provide us with sufficient time to identify certain bugs and fixes for PowerSchool to address or to integrate the technology properly within the district.

The majority of our students and parents have been able to establish their Unified Classroom accounts without issue, however, we apologize for any problems that some of you may be experiencing. Our technology team is working very closely with our schools and PowerSchool to resolve issues. Our priority at the moment is getting our students and teachers up and running so that they can benefit from the many advantages that Unified Classroom provides. Once that is achieved, we will shift gears to onboarding our parents onto Unified Classroom and have included information herein. Please note that in order to establish a new account, you will need your child’s unique access ID and password that you received from your child’s school. In addition, Golden Brook School accounts will be activated at a later date. If you are experiencing issues, please contact the technology integrator at your child’s school with all pertinent details:
