It is my pleasure to welcome you to Windham Middle School, a seventh and eighth grade school that is dedicated to our students, staff, and community. Windham Middle School recognizes each student as a unique individual. Our school’s mission statement encompasses that ideal. Our mission statement states, “The Windham Middle School faculty, staff, and students provide a
learning environment where creativity and curiosity are encouraged; student growth and development is supported as all students strive to reach their potential. We encourage individuals to form a cohesive school community that is tolerant and appreciates the differences and similarities among its members.” We believe in this mission, and we incorporate it into our daily work with our students.
The educators of WMS are dedicated to challenge each student to maximize their growth emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Our classes are designed to include every individual and all ability levels. Likewise, we provide remediation and enrichment opportunities. Our school strives to create a community of open-minded, curious, and engaged learners in which all members belong. We provide a learning environment where creativity and curiosity are encouraged.
In addition to our focus on the academic well-being of our students, WMS offers several athletic programs and clubs to enhance their school experience. Our school holds a multitude of championship honors from state titles in soccer, volleyball, golf and baseball. We also have a strong fine arts program where our students excel in band, choir and orchestra concerts. Our art department offers an art club and several showcases throughout the school year. Our Lego
Robotics team competes at the state level. Clubs include, but are not limited to baking, skiing, art, and book beat. As you can see, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved at middle school.
Overall, Windham Middle School continues to provide a place for all students to belong and feel successful. We encourage students to be active members of their learning community. We look forward to a wonderful school year!
Kindly,
Brenda Morrow
